Step 1
First, we get to know you
In your first lesson, your teacher asks about your goal: work, vocational training, university, an exam or everyday life. Your teacher also asks about your job and the languages you already speak. Everything is voluntary. With this information, your teacher plans the lessons for you and your group.

Lessons are in German, even for beginners. You understand new words through pictures, examples and real situations. For grammar, you also get materials in your language.

With the live quiz, you and your teacher see instantly what the group has understood.
The board to read again
You see what your teacher writes on the board live in the learning portal. The board stays available until shortly before the next lesson, so you can read it again and print it.
Small groups or private
In a group course you get your turn in every lesson. In private lessons you learn alone or with up to two other people, if you want.
Evenings and weekends
Lessons start at 7 pm, Monday to Friday or on Saturday and Sunday. The time can be adjusted if the group agrees.

Important: WkD is not an exam centre and does not issue certificates. You take the exam at an official test centre.

How does WkD find my weak points?
Through instantly evaluated exercises, personally corrected texts, your charts for listening, reading, writing and speaking, and the progress test in exam format. Your teacher plans the lessons accordingly.
Do I get a certificate from WkD?
No. WkD does not issue certificates. We prepare you for the official exams, for example telc, Goethe, ÖSD, TestDaF or DSH. You take the exam at an official test centre.
Which exams does WkD prepare for?
For all common German exams, for example telc Deutsch A1 to C1, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, Goethe-Zertifikat, ÖSD, TestDaF, DSH and fide.
Can I start without any German?
Yes. We start with pronunciation and the alphabet. Lessons are in German, and for grammar you also get materials in your language.
Is there an app?
Yes. Your learning portal works in the browser and as an app on your phone, tablet and computer. If you want, it reminds you of lessons, new homework and finished corrections.
When are the lessons?
In the evening from 7 pm, Monday to Friday or on Saturday and Sunday. The group can agree on the exact time together.
Can I join from Austria or Switzerland?
Yes. Lessons are completely online. You can join from Germany, Austria, Switzerland or any other country. You see your dates in your local time.
How much does a course cost?
You can find the current prices, with the number of teaching units (UE), in the course list. Group courses are paid for the whole course, private lessons as a monthly package. Exam preparation courses are shorter and therefore cheaper than a full level course.
