Exam preparation

telc, Goethe and g.a.s.t. We prepare you. You take the exam itself at an official exam center.

The most important thing first, so everything is clear: WkD is not an exam center. We do not hold official exams and do not issue official language certificates.

We prepare you for the exam. From us, you get a certificate of attendance for your course. And we help you find a suitable exam center near you. That's where you take the exam and get your certificate.

What we prepare you for

telc, our focus

Most of our participants take the telc exam. That's why it's our focus. We know the structure, the typical tasks and the points where people often struggle. In the course, we practice the exam as if it were real. So there are no surprises on exam day.

Goethe certificate

We also prepare you specifically for the Goethe exams. The lessons match the level you need.

g.a.s.t.: TestDaF and studying

If you want to study in Germany, you often need a language certificate like the TestDaF. The TestDaF is offered by g.a.s.t. Here, we also practice the language you really need at university: understanding lectures, reading academic texts and joining in the discussion in seminars.

How long does it take?

Lots of people ask us this. Here is what we have seen so far, as a guide based on experience, not as a promise:

approx. 3.5months from the start to B1
+ approx. 3more months to B2
+ approx. 3more months to C1
Key factorregular attendance and your own effort

Whether it goes just as fast for you depends on you: how regularly you attend, how much you practice between lessons and what you already know. We don't promise you a date. We tell you honestly what we have seen so far.

Passed the exam, and then?

A certificate is proof, but it's not the goal. What matters more to us is that you cope well afterward: in a job interview, at work or in a seminar. That's why we don't just practice exam tasks, but also the situations that come after the exam.

We have had people with a B2 certificate who started over from the beginning with us. They could pass exams, but they couldn't speak. We want to spare you that.

How you can prepare

Exam preparation is a group course, either on weekends or on weekdays. Both have fixed dates, and the group stays together until the end. On weekdays, classes are in the afternoon or evening. On weekends, they are during the day or in the evening. We agree on the exact time with everyone in the group before the start.

Exam preparation has 15 teaching units (UE) of 45 minutes each. This applies to B1, B2 and C1, on weekdays and on weekends. If you need more practice after that, you can book extra UE. They cost extra.

Here, too, you have your WkD learning portal: with dates, materials, exercises and the WkD notebook for your writing tasks. Your teacher corrects them personally, with a grade and feedback.

Just give it a try

Tell us in the trial lesson which exam you need and by when. Then we'll tell you honestly whether that's realistic.
